RUMFORD — Mountain Valley coach Jim Aylward was just hoping his Falcons would stay healthy and improve in the football game at Chet Bulger field. The Falcons refused to buckle and took care of business in a Class B Campbell Conference tilt. Senior quarterback Chris Day threw three touchdown passes and and the Falcons remained unbeaten with a 41-0 win over Fryeburg Academy. MV fullback Brady Fergola (fumble recovered) caught a pass in the right flat, received a Mason block and ran a 38-yard TD on the first drive of the game. The Falcons used the line of Laubauskas, Steven Jeselskis, Nick Taylor, center Ryan Glover and Clark opened up huge holes. "We did bend a little on defense,"Laubauskas said, the 286-pound tackle lined up as a FB and scored a 20-yard TD. "We were not playing fundamentally sound defense." Jacob Arsenault kicked four extra points. Tim Ross rushed for a 23-yard TD.
"I would like us to just stay focused for 48 minutes,"Aylward said. "We didn't have any penalties tonight. My father would say that's not a good thing as it shows we were not aggressive."
